Stars On 45 – Stars On Stevie
side a: Stars On Stevie
side b: It’s Not A Wonder, It’s A Miracle
I was eleven years old and this is how I really discovered The Beatles. When this “Beatles Medley” came out it wasn’t long ago that my little brother and I ran upstairs to the bathroom where our mum was taking a shower to tell her that John Lennon had been shot. I was quite shocked to notice her crying over the news. Lennon didn’t mean a whole lot to me at the time, his name rang a bell but that was it. But I really liked this incredibly cheesy Stars On 45 thing, so much so that even today, when I hear one of the Beatles songs that are in it, I kind of expect it to seemlessly go right into another one.
The “Stars On Stevie” one I bought at a Queens Day flee market. It had no sleeve so I made one myself. I’d like to think I did a pretty good job on that.
They even played this stuff, err, live! Check the video.
