“Why” is one of those songs that somehow have always been around in my head, without me ever really thinking about it, or buying it. Then one day I heard the “Why Edit” version of A Tribe Called Quest‘s “Bonita Applebum” again and I thought
“Why
Have I not
This single?
Don’t know why”
So I went out and bought it. Because it’s beautiful.
It’s produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards from Chic, who play the instrumental version on the B-side. “Why” is part of the original soundtrack to Soup for One, which is really good. The soundtrack, I mean. Haven’t seen the film.
You gotta love this video, too.

Never realized it was THE Carly Simon who sang this, thanks for the music lesson 🙂 and the great song.
Errr… is there another Carly Simon?
Well, there probably is, but you know what I mean, right?
🙂 ehhhh, loose wires in the brain and all that
I love this one, heard it again on Italian radio this summer….
this is a great song indeed and also nicely re-edited and mashed with another tune by the popular people’s front. listen to sample here
