Sheila & B. Devotion – Spacer

“S.B. Devotion”, “Sheila B. Devotion”, “Sheila & B. Devotion”, “Sheila & Black Devotion” or just plain “Sheila”, the French singer had been going at it for seventeen years already when she got a disco hit with “Spacer”. In her native France she already was a star, “Spacer” made it all go international. Good move methinks to have Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards produce her album King of the World, where “Spacer” and “Don’t Go” are taken from. Although the sound of “No. No. No. No.” (taken from the previous album Disque d’Or is not wrong at all – it’s even perfect for these days, what with all that cosmic disco floating around and all. She could cash in on that, seeing as she’s still around performing. Imagine Sheila doing a thingie with Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas or Aeroplane or something. Could be nice.
