Double A-side on Torso, a label of the now defunct but once legendary (in The Netherlands, anyway) Boudisque Records. Both tracks are from Animal Boy. “Somebody Put Something in My Drink” is written by Richie Ramone, and it’s believed it’s about the time he was given a drink with LSD in it. Now that can have serious consequences, boys and girls. “Something to Believe in” was accompanied by a video of the mock charity Hands Across Your Face.
I’ve seen them live only once. I think I cried. Years later, I met Dee Dee briefly when I was working at the Amsterdam office of Vitaminic.
You shouldn’t meet your heroes.
