I bought these 45s because 1. they’re 45s, 2. I’m a QOTSA fan and 3. well, they’re 45s, aren’t they? With beautiful sleeves, one of them gatefold! But fuck me if this isn’t a little bit of a rip-off. Lemme explain: “3’s & 7’s” comes in two versions with separate catalogue numbers (so they’re actually two different singles). One has a gatefold sleeve (the green one) which says “All 3 formats fit inside this package” and has a little thingie on the inside where you can stick a CD, I suppose. Don’t know what for, I mean, why would you buy the CD if you have the vinyl? You’d just look totally uncool. And what’s the third format? MP3? You can fit an MP3 in the sleeve? Hmmm. It can’t be a cassette, it wouldn’t fit.
Anyways, both versions have three tracks on them, but here’s the thing: both carry identical versions of “3’s & 7’s” and “Sick, Sick, Sick”. So instead of six tracks you get four. I say rip-off.
Still, they’re 45s, aren’t they? With beautiful sleeves, one of them gatefold. And the tracks are good. No real need to have them double, but oh well.
