This single was released to be sold exclusively at the Dap-Kings gigs during the tour for their first album. The copies that were left later became available in some shops and on the Daptone website. Which is nice, for else I wouldn’t have been able to buy it, would I?
It’s a cover of a piece written by Mickey Newbury, made famous by The First Edition, whose singer was Kenny Rogers. Their version, with the mighty Glen Campbell playing the reverse guitar intro, appeared on the soundtrack of the fabulous The Big Lebowski by the Coen brothers.
