I thought I was buying a nice little easy listening tune when I handed the sales guy my three euros in exchange for this here slab of wax, but when I listened to it at home I found it's a extremely annoying disco version of Dinah Washington's classic. Which, by the way, is a version of a Mexican bolero called "Cuando vuelva a tu lado".

I didn't know much about Ms. Phillips but I didn't expect her to have recorded stuff like this. I don't dislike disco, quite the contrary, but this is one 45 I wouldn't have bought had I had the opportunity to listen to it. It's even worse than that übercheesy version of "Night and Day" by Francis Albert I own - come to think of it, I probably got it from the same guy, at some record fair. At least that one has a kind of Loveboaty feel to it that makes me chuckle.
