Tof
Er stapten een stel laat-puberalen in. Van die studententypes, met roze hoofden van het bier en een blik alsof ze de wereld aankunnen. Alsof er onder dat babyvet zich rimpels bevonden van bloed, zweet en tranen. Zes stevige jongens en een gezellig dik meisje, allen gehuld in wat leek op scouts-uniformen, met rood-wit-blauwe sherpen en getooid met petten waarop de Vlaamse leeuw genaaid was. En datte zij toffe jongens waren dat wilden zij wé-hé-ten.
"Laten wij zingen!" riep er een. En ze hieven een lied aan over het schone Vlaand'ren land en dat de leeuw zal vechten. Af en toe keek een van hen de coupé rond, alsof om zich ervan te vegewissen dat iedereen aanwezig hen hoorde, maar meestal keken ze tijdens het lallen strak voor zich uit. Een lied over het Brabantse land volgde, en daarna een over een schönes Mädchen.
Het meisje zong het hardst. Zij keek ook het uitdagendst de treincoupé in, en stond af en toe op om met haar handen in haar zij de woorden uit te spuwen. Alsof ze zichzelf moed inzong voor de lange nacht die volgen zou. Immers, zes uur nadien zouden haar zes kompanen om het hardst zingend over Vlaamse leeuwen en schöne Mädel hun zaad over haar weelderige boezem verspillen. Voor het vaderland, denk ik.

Last night I was tricked into doing something I didn't want to do. The perp abused my good nature to an extent I still find pretty hard to believe. As I was telling a good friend this morning, I felt like Christopher Walken in that True Romance scene where Dennis Hopper tells him, a somewhat racist mob counsel of Sicilian descent, that Sicilians have "nigger blood pumpin' through their hearts" (RealAudio file). Walken is astonished. The cheek of the old man! It is so offending to him all he can do is laugh.
Well, that and put three bullets in Hopper's head.
Which is what I did.
But, contrary to popular belief, I am a man of honour, and I seek revenge. His ass will be mine.
The man kind of apologised. My rage has vanished, like tears in the rain.
